Last 2 Weeks of School

The work is over on the right of this post.  Please make sure you are up to date on all work.

We will be finishing up on the observations in our journals next week and your journal may go home on Wednesday of the last week. All other items for science may go home before that time.

I can't believe this year is almost over and I'm sad to see it end.  Hope you have learned some amazing things in science this year and enjoyed making a mess or two.  Have a great and safe summer!

Week of May 9-13

The school year is winding down and we are now into the end of year experiments. You will be scientists that are examining the experiments that are performed.  This will include all of the steps of the scientific method and include the data and graphs.  You will also examine the results and decide if they are reasonable.

Dioramas are finished and the grading continues this week.  Some will be displayed in the case and some will be used during the China Unit.

Week of May 2-6

Last week, we began our story of the water and landforms that are shaped by our waterways.  This week, we will build our diorama during class.  Supplies are provided, but if students want to add any other items, that will have to be brought from home.  We have discussed this in class, so students should have an understanding of expectations. Scoring guides were given out last Wednesday and each student has one now.

Week of April 18-22

I was very impressed with the power point presentations that you presented last week.  For sure, your classmates gained knowledge because you did a very nice job on them.

Science class will be changing gears, although we are in the same book.  This week we will be learning about fossils. Next week we will be going back to do a project that we will tie into the China/Asia unit that will be done throughout all of your "core" and "specials" classes.  Therefore, we will be returning to the topic of erosion and building a diorama of the journey of water. I know it sounds a little backward, but we had the computer lab (scheduled at the beginning of the year) to do the power point and how getting this in during the Asia unit, we have had to do some switching.  It will all work out in the end.

Week of April 11-15 PPT Presentations

Power point presentations will be on Thursday and Friday of this week.  You may work on this from home, but most should be done during class time.  All of this should be done on google presentation so that we can share our information with the other student we are working with. It will not be as elaborate on google, but it is a lot easier to do a partner project this way.

I cannot wait to see what you have created.

Week of April 4-8

MAP testing will be going on during the first 4 days this week.  Therefore, science and social studies will not be happening Monday through Wednesday.  On Thursday, we will have all 4 core classes, but they will be very short.  Friday is a normal day -MAP is over.
